You guys know that we have been best friends for almost 11 years right?? Since we roomed together our freshman year of college, every new year (we do it for our birthdays in August and November too) we have a date to reflect on what was important about our year and what we want from the next one. A few days ago we did it in the Russian Turkish baths. This year we got to do it with GUNK :)

here’s some personal reflections:
Hannah’s:
In 2024, I adopted a cat, started knitting, and baking bread. I learned to embrace more slowness in my life. I’m still learning how to do that. I traveled a lot - playing in other people’s bands, my own, my partner’s. I made new friends on the road. I lost a dear friend, too. I am seeing that sometimes it is really important to leave home - both the place and the people that make it such. Coming back, after so much time, is a feeling I need to remember to take in again and again. In 2024, that home expanded - within community, friends, my best friend and partner in GUNK (ceci), my partner, my family (++++). I am deeply grateful for it all and all that is to come.
Ceci’s:
In 2024, I felt grown up. I turned 28 and then I went through so much change. everyone told me that I was fearless and it felt like loss. I felt protective of my alone time in a new way. I got closer to my family. I stopped dying my hair. I wrote down everything people said to me. I started writing stories again. I'm becoming more patient. I went to the beach as many times as possible. I cried through a tour and my band held me. I really loved my friends.
I felt lucky.
